On Stains (2024-)

On Stains explores stains as witnesses to everyday life. These imprints, reveal how ordinary fabric becomes a living canvas and record. This work is a response to the perfect, or sequel, to perfect food imagery, becoming detached from lived experience. They are meant to counter the alienation from communal rituals, in turn uplifting the spills and accidents as witnesses of togetherness.

It looks to reveal how these traces reveal a spectacle of their own. By situating the domestic sphere as a site of both repetition and revelation, the aim of the project is to reconnect with the imperfect process that is increasingly idealized or commodified, a space where attention is too often micro fragmented into too many open tabs, and to remind us how integral this simple mess remains.
